Mine Pond Dewatering
We designed and engineered (including the hydraulic calculations) the entire system for an old mine pond dewatering application. Using an Atlas Copco pump we discharged a 10-15 million gallon pond 300 feet up the mountain and into an underground void.
Included in the system were:
- One Atlas Copco PACH64, 275 HP high-head pump
- 3,200 feet of fused 16-inch DR11 HDPE pipe
Because the pond was in a low spot, and will continue to collect water, after we completed the project – in October 2024 – we relocated the system to maintain workable water levels from a remote location so pumping does not disrupt mining operations.
